10. Historical Sites
St George is known for it's historical richness dating back to 1857 in some areas. Head over to the Mountain Meadows Site to learn more about the tragic fate of a group of immigrants. Or maybe you want to head on over to the Jacob Hamblin home, A well known Mormon Pioneer who made friends with the local Nate American Indians. You could also take a gander at the LDS temple completed in 1893. There are a couple of ghost towns To check out which are within an hour or less driving distance of st George. 7. Hiking & Mountain biking
There is honestly nothing more grounding then spending the day out in nature. Whether you like the leisurely pace of hiking or the challenging experience of a mountain bike trail, you are sure to have a good time on our desert trails. The best part? There are a ton of free areas to explore. Just park your car and away you go. Do not forget that st George is a desert though. Bring a pack of supplies with plenty of water and snacks. If you've ever been to St George you know how hot it can get. Lucky for us, we have a ton of lakes and reservoirs within reach. Sand hallow being the closest and warmest of the waters. 4. Snow Canyon Park
Snow Canyon National Park is 7400 acres of pure majesty. The differing colors of the sandstone and lava rock can leave you awestruck. With 38 miles of hiking trails, and a three-mile paved walking/biking trail, there is plenty of exploration for you and your loved ones to enjoy. If you are lucky you may end up seeing the endangered desert tortoise which even locals have trouble finding. Having a rich history of the anasazi Indians and Mormon pioneers passing through, who knows what you will find. Find the directions and entrance fees here.

St George is known for its racing and marathon events. It's honestly hard to keep up with how many events we have going on now a days. It's obvious why this is the number one pick for things to do on our list. Zions national park brings people from all over the world to see the amazing sites this park has to offer. Starting with the fact that you don't need to try and drive your car to find specific trails, Zions National Park has a bus system taking you directly to some of the best hiking spots you can go to.
